| About Dr. Wayne King
Dr. Wayne King, is a local mercury-free dentist who has been in practice for 32 years. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, and a Fellow in the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology. (see IAOMT.com)
Extensive studying and research lead Dr. King to realize the dangers of "silver" fillings, commonly known in the dental profession as dental amalgams. These amalgam fillings are made with approximately 50% mercury, along with other metals such as silver, copper, tin and zinc. Scientific research has demonstrated that mercury, even in minuscule amounts, can damage many parts of the body.

Dr. Wayne King Honored
Dr. Wayne King, a local mercury-free dentist, has been honored twice by the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT). His second honor was presented at the annual scientific symposium, in 1997, held in Toronto, Canada. Over 200 doctors attended this meeting, representing the United States, Canada, Sweden, Japan, Germany, England, Holland, Mexico, Australia, and New Zealand. Dr. King was distinguished by being named a "Fellow" in the Academy following his satisfactory completion of the requirements for fellowship. At the previous annual meeting in, 1996, in Houston, Texas, Dr. King received The Gary Strong, D.D.S., Memorial Award for outstanding service and dedication -- the Academy's highest honor.
In March of 1997, Dr. King was one of four authors who published a scientific paper in Biological Trace Element Research, Vol. 56, p143-152, entitled “Mercury from Maternal 'Silver' Tooth Fillings in Sheep and Human Breast Milk.” This paper continues the barrage of serious doubts raised about the unproven safety of the world's most widely used dental filling material -- silver fillings or dental amalgam -- especially when placed into or removed from the mouths of pregnant or lactating females.
In 1990 the Centers for Disease Control stated that long term exposure to mercury causes permanent brain damage, permanent damage to the kidneys, and permanent damage to the fetus. In 1994 the CDC concluded that a lowest safe level of mercury cannot be found -- this means that even minute levels of mercury are extremely toxic and should be avoided at all costs. Dental amalgam slowly leaks its mercury all over the body. Many countries have recommended limiting the use of amalgams and some are trying to ban them altogether, especially for children and women of child-bearing age.
Of his 32 years in dentistry, Dr. King has been practicing mercury-free for nineteen years. His office is located two blocks from the Big Chicken in Marietta at 1200 Roswell Road, Suite 4 (Second Floor), VPI Building (next to I-75 bridge).
